The Language of Love

The language of love differs from the language of theology. They are both given as a single twine of string, split, so as to wrap a package, meeting again as one string in a knot that ties the gift of mankind together. What distills theology into philosophy and ideology is the lack of charity; the lack not only to speak but to express through all senses the language of love. This expression of altruism is the dogmatic core of all belief. Without this, the fountain of compassion, we are nihilistic, primordials with no aversion to hedonism, but only stirring self-loving hegemony.

Critique: John MacArthur’s “Marriage, Divorce, and Singleness”

My comments [mark by an *] on some of MacArthur’s quotes:

John MacArthur says, “Paul says, ‘Look, it’s okay to be single, it’s okay to live without any relationships with the opposite sex, but it’s a whole lot better to marry because of immoralities’.” – *This is conditional. Christ says it is greater to be celibate for God [Mt 19:12]. Paul confirms this [1 Cor 7:32-35]. What Paul is calling greater when he speaks of marriage is that marriage is only greater than celibacy if you can’t be sexually celibate and pure; it is better to be married and pure than celibate and impure. But celibacy with purity is the highest devotion.

Stand Up For the Guy That No One Likes

You know that guy at work, or that girl at school? You know the one I am talking about. The one that no one really likes, maybe because they are weird or have something wrong with them. The one that people talk bad about behind their backs. Maybe you participate in this or are just a silent observer knowing that it isn’t right. But if you were to do something about it, maybe say something, you may quickly find yourself on the outside with them.

Personal Prayers of the Heart

Prayers from the heart:

Blessing for your Rifle

Lord bless my rifle and the one who uses it. May both carry out your will and no other. May both have the courage to do what is right and just by Your standards, not the standards of men. Lord bless my rifle to keep me safe. Lord bless me to keep my rifle prudent. Amen.

Prayer for Help

Before the cross I kneel and pray

That God might save me on this day

I keep my eyes to the ground

How to Share Christ with Others

More and more we find ourselves in a society that is reclusive in its behavior. We have developed a mentality that we should keep to ourselves and leave others alone. “What is good for me is good for me, and what is good for them is good for them.” We are taught at an early age not to be controversial and to not push our beliefs on people.

However we often find ourselves compelled to share Christ with others and to reach out to them. We want to show people the joy we have found in our Lord and Savior.

What is ‘Living the Mass’?

Catholics have three types of Mass. Only two are really spoken of. First is High Mass which is the Saturday evening, Sunday morning Masses. The second is the weekday masses held most commonly every day; typically held in the morning, the other in the evening. But the third Mass is what the Church calls ‘Living the Mass’.

Living the Mass is an actual form of Mass, and the most important because it is a continual offering of our lives and devotion that is to remain in constant submission to God’s will. Allow me to take you through Holy Scripture and re-unveil a truth that the Church has always taught over her 2000 years of service.

A Modest Suggestion to End the Gay Marriage Debate

The topic of gay marriage seems to be a very important topic these days. There are many people on both sides of the discussion. Unfortunately their isn’t a lot of love in this discussion, which is ironic considering the topic. There really is no need to explain the debate here, as I am sure everyone who is reading this article knows what the dispute is about.

To be honest, there is a very simple answer to the whole argument. It is rooted in a fundamentally flawed approach to how marriage is handled by the government to begin with.

Scripture on Alcohol

Once while out with a Bible study, after we finished our session, I was asked why I had ordered a beer with my meal. Now, it is seldom that I drink alcohol but on occasion I’ll have one drink. My response was, “Is it offensive? If it is, I can send it back”. What ensued was a sling of non-Biblical theories of how evil and sinful alcohol is. I have decided to write this essay to show the contrast of the fundamentalist view of alcohol and scriptural passages that speak of the matter.

Homosexuality

The transmission of life is given through total self donation by becoming one flesh (Genesis 2:21-24). This is the complimentary of the sexes reflecting God’s inner unity as seen in Genesis 1:27. As we will see, I have provided to positions regarding Christian conduct and homosexuality. One is conveyed through strictly Biblical scripture. The other is theological and philosophical.

Divorce and Remarriage?

“What God has joined, no man can separate.” Mark 10:7-12.

Divorce and remarriage. In today’s culture, they almost run hand in hand. In the mind of the secular world this may be acceptable; but what about the Christians who do it? We should know, as followers of Christ, that divorce and remarriage is unacceptable. Starting in the Old Testament, we read in Malachi 2:14-16 that divorce is loathed by the Lord. But most Christians are only familiar with with the newer text of the Bible. So let’s proceed in the New Testament and see what God has spoken about divorce and remarriage.
